Navan Solves Pluralsight’s Global T&E Pain Points

Pluralsight, a global technology education powerhouse, was grappling with a complex travel and expense (T&E) program.

The company partnered with Navan in July 2022 to streamline its travel operations, and then added Navan Expense to its tech stack in November 2023. In doing so, the company went from a patchwork of systems to a single, seamless T&E solution.

Before Navan: Disparate solutions, dissatisfied travelers

Before Navan, Pluralsight used a legacy travel and expense product, supplemented by a hodgepodge of regional travel management companies (TMCs) and corporate card solutions.

“It was difficult to be effective and efficient, especially around reporting. We needed to patch together data from different sources to present it in a way that made sense,” said Senior Accountant Megan Morrill.

Plus, all of the workarounds led to a disjointed experience for travelers, who experienced inventory and support woes.

Why Navan: User focus, global reach

Pluralsight was drawn to Navan because of its like-minded focus on the end user, as well as the opportunities for a unified global travel program.

The company also saw the advantages of Navan’s built-in policy controls. “Our team members are self-sufficient and like to take care of things on their own. Allowing them the freedom and flexibility to book on their own and stay within company policy was a game-changer," said Morrill.

Experiencing the Navan magic

Morrill’s day-to-day work has changed dramatically since implementing Navan.

“I no longer need to jump in and put out fires or troubleshoot with employees,” she said. “The travel booking side of things is handled, so I can focus on other aspects of our program.”

Pluralsight's is also benefiting from:

  • Real-time visibility
  • Navan's "no expense report" experience
  • Breezy guest bookings
  • Improved user experience
  • Better inventory

As well as dramatic cost savings: 19% on flights and 18% on hotels.

A future-proof T&E partner

Pluralsight began with Navan Travel and added Navan Expense to its tech stack soon after. Now, the company benefits from one centralized T&E system that is consistent regardless of an employee’s location.

Navan’s partnership with Pluralsight proves that running a complex, global T&E program doesn’t need to be complicated.

Morrill sums it up best: “We went from a patchwork with all of these workarounds to a solid utility with efficiencies.”

We were looking for a one-stop shop that could be used globally. We wanted all of our team members to have equal access, whether they were in the U.S., Australia, Europe, India, or Singapore.
